And you can get to know this phenomenon very close to Minsk – in Rakov and Ivenets. We invite you to a one-day trip, which has not left anyone indifferent yet.

7.45 Meeting at the starting point

8.00 Departure from Minsk

9.00 -10.00 Arrival and walk along Rakov. A distinctive feature of villages has always been neighborhood of  churches of different faiths. So in Rakov in the square there are former Uniate, now an Orthodox church of the end of the XVIII century, and next to it there is a majestic Neo-Gothic church of the beginning of XX, made from local, yellow clay. The architectural ensemble of this town evokes delight and pride in its ancestors. You can enjoy a leisurely stroll through the picturesque and quiet streets of Rakov and buy souvenirs.

10.15-10.30 On the way from Rakov to Ivenets we will definitely stop at the tract of Tupolshchyna where in the small village cemetery, in the canopy of the neo-gothic chapel of the XIX century, where the ashes of the founder of the Belarusian opera, Vincent Dunin-Martinkevich, are buried. At a stop at the monument to the great composer, the guide will tell how Dunin-Martinkevich is connected with the history of Belarusian photography, about his life and contribution to the development of the Belarusian musical culture.

10.45 -11.45 In Ivents our excursion follows to two incredibly beautiful churches – the Neo-Gothic St. Alexis Church and the  St. Michael’s Cathedral. Both churches are open for visitors – they are visited daily by hundreds of tourists from different countries. The excursion of St. Michael’s Cathedral will be conducted by Franciscan monks from the nearby functioning monastery, which has been preserved since the XVII century. We are sure that this place will remain in your memory for a long time.

11.45-13.30 The excursion will move to the Museum of Traditional Culture in Ivenets. It’s an interactive museum, which is sure to please young visitors of the excursion. In addition to the impressive exhibition, which will tell the museum’s scientists, you can see folk crafts and craftsmen in action: the potter will launch a potter’s wheel and create several clay products, the weaver will sit behind the machine and show how the fabric was made by hand, the smith will shake the bellows, and a wood carver will “knock” on a wooden sculpture.

14.00-16.00 A visit to the famous museum “World of bees”.

Many people like honey, but very few people think about how it gets to our table, how bees live. You will learn how many different types of honey there are. What honey is to collect, find out medical properties of this simple delicacy. You will learn all these and many other things by visiting the museum “The World of Bee”. Of course, all the guests will taste different types of honey and a sweet treat – honey with pancakes and hot aromatic tea from fragrant herbs.

16.00-18.00 Picnic in the open air, free time for walks and photo sessions.

19.00 Return to Minsk

Minsk

Minsk region occupies the central part of Belarus and it is the largest region among other regions of the country. The regional center of the region is the city of Minsk which is also the largest city in Belarus.

The region has the second highest number of reservoirs. Total Minsk region has more than 450 rivers and 500 reservoirs, besides on the territory there are a lot of artificial reservoirs. The largest lakes are Naroch and Svir.

The Berezinsky Biosphere Reserve with a given status of international is partially located in Minsk region. The national park “Narochansky”. The region undoubtedly has a high level in organization of excursions, celebrations and festivals. Most frequently visited attractions, symbolizing the tragedy and incredible courage of our people in the days of the Second World War, are such memorable places as Khatyn, Stalin’s line, Mound of Glory, Second World War Museum are located within Minsk and Minsk region that is why it is worth visiting. Belarusian Ethnographic Museum “Dudutki” is very popular among tourists.

This museum opens the doors to the past and visitors can get acquainted with the culture and traditions of the Belarusian people. Within the complex festivals and national celebrations are constantly held. The palace and park ensemble in the town of Nesvizh is certainly worth visiting, it is protected by UNESCO. The castle was the residence of the powerful dynasty of the Radziwill family. So what can be seen in Minsk?

The list of monuments of architecture, archeology and religion is simply enormous. Having gone for a walk or a sightseeing tour of capital, one should definitely see the most famous church, or as they call it in the capital – the Red Church, visit the island of tears, an interesting architectural solution – the National Library, constructed in the form of a diamond, the Trinity Suburb, the City Hall, the Botanical Garden.
